What school supplies does my child need?

School supply lists are available by grade level.  Talk to your child's teacher or our family liaison, Sandra Chetelat, if you need assistance.

How does my child buy lunch?

Free and reduced lunch may be available to some families.  Families must submit an application and be approved to be eligible for free and reduced price meals for the 2022-23 school year.

Students approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals may qualify for additional benefits such as waived or reduced fees for instruments, uniforms, field trips, FCPS class fees, and Parktakes classes.

More information about school lunches and how to add money to your child's account can be found on the FCPS website.

How do I find out what teacher my child has?

Class assignments will be available on Tuesday, August 16th.  Families will receive a letter in the mail.  Class assignments can also be found on ParentVue.  You may need to activate your account first.

What events do you have at the beginning of the school year?

Our first event of the year, Playground Playdates, is on Saturday, August 6th.  Students have the opportunity to play on the playground with peers of the same age and connect before school starts.  Make sure to check the school events calendar to see what time your child's grade level is participating.

Our next event is Open House on Tuesday, August 19th, starting at 10:30 am.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet their teacher and see their classroom.  Immediately following the Open House, teachers will host curriculum information sessions.  This is a chance for you to learn more specific information about the upcoming school year.

How do I find out my child's bus information?

Bus stop locations and times will be sent via email, text, and phone no later than Thursday, August 18th.  FCPS utilizes a mobile app called Here Comes the Bus that lets you track the bus location during the school year.
